Alan M. Cvancara is the author of 16 books, ten of which deal with nature:: Designs of Nature, Wildflower Personallities, Bare Bones Geology, A Field Manual for the Amateur Geologist, Edible Wild Plants and Herbs, Exploring Nature in Winter, Sleuthing Fossils, At the Water's Edge, Geological Glimpses, and Canoe Tripping. His photographs or pen and ink sketches appear in 15 of his books. Among his books are three novels, Prairie Crocus, Prairie Crocus in a Man's World, and Down the Road With Dacotah. His Down the Academic High Road is autobiographical. Alan is co-author, with his wife Ella, of a self-hope book, Back Trip, and a coffee table book consisting of poetry and accompanying photographs, Windows Into Legacy.
